T-Ball Division (ages 5-6)

T-Ball (ages 5-6)
The Tee-Ball Division is for boys and girls ages 5-6-years old who want to learn the
fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In Tee Ball, players hit a ball off a batting tee.
Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary
goals of Tee Ball is to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow
them to experience the value of teamwork. Rosters are usually composed of between
11 and 14 players. No live player pitching is permitted in this division. Generally, the
diamond used is a 60-foot diamond, but the league has the option to use a 50-foot
diamond.
Also, after several games, coaches pitch to their own players. Coaches also serve as
catchers. Players still have the option to use a tee once coach pitch begins. No score
is kept. Basic game rules are taught, and players are rotated among all of the different
fielding positions. Basic fundamentals of throwing, catching, fielding and beginning
hitting are taught.
