Minor League (ages 9-10)
The Minor League Division is for boys and girls ages 9-10. The diamond used is a
60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.
Baseball fundamentals continue to be developed although players will begin to learn
several specific infield and outfield positions instead of all defensive positions. Base
stealing and bunting are used in game situations and infield/outfield skills continue to
be stressed. Scores are kept and standings are used for seeding at a year-end
tournament for which all teams qualify.
Also, it gives children of this age the opportunity to experience tournament
competition, up to state level with a 9- and 10-year-old district team. There is also a 9-
year-old all-star team that will come from this division.
